Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Eric's Home Services(“we,” “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website, book a service, or use our customer or field-service applications (together, the “Services”). If you have questions, contact us at the phone number on our home page.

1. Information we collect

From customers we serve

  • Contact info — name, phone number, email, and service address.
  • Service records — equipment on your property (make, model, serial, install date), service and repair history, photos taken during a visit, and any notes about the work.
  • Payment info — we do not store your card. Card processing is handled by Stripe, Inc.; we store only the last four digits of the card, an amount, and Stripe’s payment identifiers.
  • Signatures — captured when you approve an estimate or acknowledge completed work.
  • Communications — the text messages, emails, and phone calls between you and us are logged (with recording where legally permitted, and with disclosure).

From our staff and technicians

  • Account info — email, name, role, and hashed password.
  • Time-clock entries and GPS pings — collected during clocked-in shifts. Location data is used to route dispatch, share an ETA with customers, and verify time-on-site; it is not tracked when off shift.

From visitors to our website

  • Standard server logs (IP address, user agent, page URLs, and timestamps) used to keep the site secure and fast. We do not use behavioral advertising cookies.

2. How we use your information

  • To schedule visits, dispatch a technician, deliver the service you requested, and bill you.
  • To send appointment confirmations, on-the-way notifications, invoices, and receipts by email and text message.
  • To recommend maintenance based on the age and history of the equipment on your property (only to you, unless you approve otherwise).
  • To keep accurate records for warranty, tax, insurance, and regulatory purposes.
  • To improve our service quality and train our technicians.

3. When we share information

We only share what a service provider needs to do its job for us:

  • Stripe — to process card payments.
  • Twilio — to send text messages and (with disclosure) route phone calls.
  • Resend — to send transactional email (estimates, invoices, receipts).
  • Supabase — our database and file-storage provider.
  • Anthropic — to power AI features like the assistant and the draft suggestions our office uses when writing to you. Your data is not used to train third-party AI models.
  • Vercel — our website and application host.
  • QuickBooks Online — if the shop connects it, invoices and payments are pushed there for bookkeeping.
  • Wisetack — if the shop connects it and you choose to apply, your contact info + amount are sent for financing prequalification.
  • Government agencies, insurers, or legal counsel when required by law.

We do not sell your information. We do not use it for advertising.

4. How long we keep it

Customer records (service history, invoices, warranty info) are retained for the life of the customer relationship plus 7 years after the last invoice, which matches standard IRS and Texas records-retention practice. Communications logs are retained for 3 years. You can request earlier deletion (see below) subject to those legal holds.

5. Your rights

You can, at any time:

  • Ask what personal information we have about you.
  • Ask us to correct anything that’s wrong.
  • Ask us to delete your record (subject to the retention notes above).
  • Opt out of marketing emails (transactional invoices/receipts still send).
  • Opt out of marketing text messages by replying STOP.

Requests: the phone number on our home page. We respond within 30 days.

6. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest by our hosting providers (Supabase, Stripe, Vercel). Access to your record is limited to the office and the technicians working on your job. We use strong passwords and require unique logins per staff member.

7. Children

Our Services are for homeowners and businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

8. Changes to this policy

If we make a material change, we’ll post the new policy on this page with an updated effective date, and — for existing customers — notify by email.

9. Contact
